We demonstrate this through our ongoing progress in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from our manufacturing operations and our continued investment in new products, technologies and services to help customers achieve their climate-related objectives. 

 

Renewable fuels for use in diesel engines

Renewable fuels are derived from renewable resources such as planted crops (soy, palm, rapeseed, etc.), used cooking oil, animal fat, biomass, algae, and others. When considering the life cycle of the fuel, renewable fuels have lower-carbon footprints. Renewable fuels that are derived from fats and oils may be processed through hydrotreating. The result is a high paraffinic renewable diesel (RD), also called hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), that can be used in diesel engines.

Standards governing emissions from diesel engines have continued to tighten in the past decade, requiring manufacturers of diesel engines and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to reduce the environmental impact of exhaust emissions. Perkins has invested in new technologies to help customers meet the most stringent of global emission standards—EU Stage V. This new generation of engines meets Stage V while matching customer demands for value, innovation and performance.
